Interstate Search & Recovery K-9 Team (WISARK9) is
a team comprised of professionally trained volunteer
K9's and handlers who are dedicated to assisting Law
Enforcement in searching for missing or deceased people.
We are a tax exempt, 501 (C)(3)
organization servicing Southeastern Wisconsin and Northeastern
Illinois communities. There is never a fee for our services.
Through continuing education,
training and innovation, each team brings special skills
and knowledge together into an effective and very efficient
search partnership. Training requirements for K9 Handlers
include: CPR, Crime Scene Preservation, OSHA BloodBorne
Pathogens Certification, First Aid, NASAR's SARTECH Certification,
Hazmat training and K9 first aid. Our dog handlers are
members of the National Association of Search and Rescue
(NASAR),
the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA),
the North American Search Dog Network (NASDN),
and the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA).
WISARK9 is dedicated to providing
professionally trained search dogs and handlers to responsible
agencies requesting their services. Members will assist in
a search or investigation for missing persons, articles, land
and water human remains. Our dogs are family dogs of various
breeds that are trained to work both on and off lead with
a variety of search methods, including air, trailing, tracking
and area searches, in wilderness, urban and suburban settings.
WISARK9
reserves the right to refuse searches that may pose
a hazard to dogs or handlers. |
